At first I thought I must have been accidentally turning on running mode but have since realised that the wrist based heart rate monitor is permanently on which I believe is the cause of the poor battery. I have restored all settings, done a soft reset and done a hard reset. All failed to solve the issue. The watch is; Software Version: 7.50
I chose the 230, upgrading from my FR25, as it did not have wrist based heat rate monitoring. Heart rate monitoring is important to me, but the wrist based units just do not have the accuracy I want. If you want to use the 230 to monitor your heart rate, you'll need and ANT+ rated heart monitor chest strap or similar device.
